I wasn't looking for any similarities between the film and comic book. The film was blowing awesome, so I thought that it wouldn't hurt to give a chance to the printed material, choosing the one closer to the movie version, at least in its roster and physical appearance.
Not because, I'd think that it was bad, I just didn't feel any need to read it. while I was aware that Marvel had certain comic team named "Guardians of the Galaxy", beyond that, I hadn't the slighted idea of what was about, in its now "classic" 70's incarnation or this more modern 2008's version, and if wasn't for the film, I'd never picked this TPB.
